Three, thus named for the #3 freeze branded on her neck, is a gorgeous black QH/TB mare, approx. 15 years old. Her former owner died and several animals needed homes or go to slaughter, that brought her to RCER. Three is easy to catch, leads nice, is in good weight & broke to ride. The problem: when she eats some of her food comes back out her nose. We had a scope done with Dr DeNome and a tumor was discovered nest to her pallet. Three was taken to WSU and surgery was performed for this super nice mare.
Three's surgery at WSU went well. We scoped her on Feb 24th and the tumor is gone. But, her trachea flap is not working correctly and may be paralyzed. Dr DeNome would like us to start riding her to see if exercise may resolve that issue. In the mean time she is ridable as a trail horse.
