Foster a Horse

Freedom’s Lady was abandoned to fend for her life in the shrub-steppe. When she came to RCER she was terrified of people, after several months of kindness she is now a willing partner and loves to go on trail rides.

Opening your home up to a horse while he or she is waiting for a forever home is a very rewarding experience. To see a horse that has been starved or abused turn around into a beautiful, trusting horse is a magical feeling and knowing that you had something to do with that is a wonderful, fulfilling feeling that you can’t find anywhere else.

We are always looking for foster homes, the more foster homes we have, the more horses we can help.

If you would like to foster a horse here are some things for you to think about

  • Provide safe/secure living conditions
  • Provide day-to-day care
  • Have previous horse knowledge or be willing to attend an equine care/handling class provided by RCER

If you are interested in fostering a horse please fill out the FOSTER APPLICATION and someone will contact with you within 48 hours
