Rodeo City Equine Rescue has adopted all 14 seized horses from the Sheriff's Office. The July 22nd court ruling forfeited the horses to the Sheriff, RCER has accepted the horses for adoption through a vetting process. The Rodeo City Equine Rescue has been coordinating the care of the horses since the initial seizure on May 10th.
Ella, registered Jockey club name of Fictionella, is a sweet mare that had 15 races back in her day and a record of 6-8-1. We do not have her registration papers. Ella was very thin, Body score of 2 when impounded by the Sheriff Dept. was anemic and sucking wind. Placed on iron supplement, stitching her vulva and floating her teeth, she is now a new woman with a body score of 5. Ella could be lightly ridden, is wonderful on the ground, takes fly spray without a halter, requires a special diet.
