Thank You
The story...
We wish to thank all the wonderful people that leant a helping hand to the 14 horses impounded by the Kittitas County Sheriff Dept on May 10th. We are happy to announce that custody was awarded to KCSO on July 22.
RCER provided the day to day care & rehab of these horses, but without the many people that donated financial support, feed, supplies, labor and moral support the task would have been daunting.
While the horses were in triage, RCER board members and volunteers fed and watered three times per day, transported feed and hauled shavings. Our people worked over 360 volunteer hours and provided transportation of the horses on the day they were impounded.
To these amazing people: Rick Daugherty, WA State Animal Health Inspector and Dr Dana Dobbs, Wa State Vet, for the hours they spent overseeing this impound. Dr Mike Fuller and Dr Erin Zamzow for care and rehab advise. The farriers who worked on their feet; Paul Rogers and Diedra Petrina. Thank You.
Special thanks to Bobbi Broderius, and the group of 4-H kids and parents that she lined up to come and clean stalls 3 nights a week.
Thanks to the EW Quarter Horse Club, Ken, Karen, Theresa and Barb for cleaning stalls on Wed evenings and providing equipment, and to The Posse fellas that cleaned every Friday night and also helped with hauling horses when we moved them into foster homes on June 6th.
To Ann & Shyla, for cleaning barns and lending their horse handling skills, thank you.
All these volunteers provided over 150 hours to help these horses.
And last, but most important, a big Thank You to our eight foster homes, who have continued the care and rehab of these horses. GREAT JOB EVERYONE.
RCER out of pocket expense $4910.31, donated goods from the public $2955.68.
Total for care & rehab $7865.99
