Bear

his story...

Bear is a 12 to 13 year old QH gelding. Bear has been broke to ride but is only for a very knowledgeable rider. This good looking gelding is nice to catch and halter, gets along in the herd, has a tendency to be herd bound. He is up to date on his vaccinations, teeth floating, worming and foot trimming. Would do best with another horse as a companion. As a riding horse, the vet advises that he needs a person that actually rides and guides him, does not just sit there. Bear has some eye sight issues.

A vet exam on 5-17-19 determined that Bear has a limited visual field, the checkered areas are his blind spots on any given day. This explains why he holds his head up when you're working with him. The twist to this, is that the occlusions are centered in a way that on sunny days they totally blind him. His depth perception is fine, but the pupil constriction when in bright light causes the problem. He needs to wear a fly mast on sunny days and in the snow.

Bear has found his forever home and will be a companion to a Sr mule.
